Sunscreens

I thought I’d pass this on- it’s a list of sunscreens ranked in order of safety in terms of best sun protection yet containing fewer potentially hazardous ingredients. I was surprised to learn that the brand that we use that is a popular one and recommended for children (Baby Blanket) actually ranked really badly for ingredients. I’m going to be switching to California Baby.

Also, you may have heard about Gwyneth Paltrow’s Vitamin-D-deficiency-related early stage osteopenia (early stage osteoporosis) already in the news but it’s certainly food for thought with regards to limited responsible sun exposure, even if you hate the woman.

Guilty pleasures

So this morning I turned on the TV and Dolly Parton was on Good Morning America and all that everyone needs to know is that I LOVE HER. She’s not even a guilty pleasure, I like her too much for that. Cliff Richard on the other hand, well he’s a guilty pleasure if ever there was one. I’m actually still in the closet a bit on this one, yes I kind of maybe like his music, but will I ever admit to it in real life… umm, probably never. Although this video of his I *WILL* admit to loving. It’s guaranteed to put a smile on my face whatever the weather. Maybe even a bit of laugh too. (It’s real, not a joke).
Now let’s not even talk about watching the current season of ‘The Bachelorette’…

Things have been…

Broken water heaters, flooded garages, small people now walking, babyproofing the house at a higher vertical level, running out of space on my hard drive, vacuuming up after three shedding cats, getting the air conditioning seen to, etc, etc. Things have been a bit busy of late.
But we did find a bit of time tonight for an early evening boat ride up to the diner at a nearby resort. Summer is hot but so far, fun.

Big Hits

We’ve now got to the stage where he refuses to take anything off a spoon so we’re gradually working our way through a variety of finger foods, finding out what does and doesn’t work for him. Ravioli proved to be a big hit tonight.
Looks like the Father’s Day gift was also a big hit too. I got back from the grocery store tonight to find him casting a line off the dock around the back of our house. I couldn’t be more pleased that he’s so pleased.
